Privacy Policy for YouTube Addiction Rehab

YouTube Addiction Rehab ("we", "us", "our") is a free Chrome extension and website (https://youtubeaddiction.rehab) that uses AI to help you watch YouTube on purpose. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and who processes it.

1. Information We Collect

	•	Account information: when you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, name and profile picture. We use it only to identify your account.
	•	Your goals: the "videos that help me" and "videos to avoid" text you enter in the extension. It is stored with your account so it syncs across devices.
	•	YouTube page content: while you browse www.youtube.com, the extension reads the titles and IDs of videos on the page (home feed, recommendations and the video you open). These are sent to our server and our AI providers only to decide which videos match your goals.
	•	Usage data: the time of your last request, and anonymous website analytics (page views) on youtubeaddiction.rehab.

The extension does not read any website other than www.youtube.com, and it does not collect your full browsing history, passwords, payment information, or the content of your messages.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use this information only to provide the extension's single purpose: filtering and evaluating YouTube videos against the goals you set. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness.

3. Service Providers

We share data only with the providers needed to run the service:
	•	TypeSafe AI: video titles and your goals are sent to TypeSafe's API to evaluate relevance.
	•	OpenAI: used as a backup for the same evaluation when TypeSafe is unavailable. OpenAI does not use API data to train its models.
	•	Supabase: stores your account and goals.
	•	Vercel: hosts our website and API.
	•	Google: sign-in.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Video titles are processed in real time and are not stored by us. Your account and goals are kept until you delete them. To delete your account and all associated data, email support@youtubeaddiction.rehab and we will delete it within 30 days.

5. Children's Privacy

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If we learn we have, we will delete it.

6. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date on this page.
